캘거리 한글학교 교장 김준희입니다.

지난 2025년 6월 17일, 매우 뜻깊은 자리에 캘거리 한글학교를 대표하여 참석하게 된 소식을 여러분과 나누고자 합니다.

저는 대한민국 영부인이신 김혜경 여사님과의 재외동포 간담회에 초청을 받아 참석하였습니다. 이번 간담회는 알버타 지역 내 여러 한인 단체 중 우리 캘거리 한글학교만이 유일하게 초청된 자리였기에, 그 의미가 더욱 깊었습니다.

비공개로 진행된 간담회 자리에서 저는 우리 학교의 45년이 넘는 역사와 함께, 현재 이루고 있는 성장과 성과, 그리고 한글 및 한국문화 교육의 수준을 진심을 담아 소개드렸습니다. 또한 앞으로의 지속 가능한 발전을 위해 필요한 부분들에 대해서도 직접 말씀드릴 수 있었습니다.

짧은 시간이었지만, 김혜경 여사님께서는 재외동포 사회에서 한글학교가 지닌 중요성에 깊이 공감하시며, 우리 아이들의 한글과 한국문화 교육을 위해 애쓰는 학교의 노고에 큰 격려를 보내주셨습니다. 더불어, 한글학교가 지속적으로 발전할 수 있도록 각별한 관심과 응원을 아끼지 않겠다는 말씀도 전해주셨습니다.

이번 만남은 저 개인에게도 매우 영광스러운 시간이었지만, 무엇보다도 캘거리 한글학교 전체가 자긍심을 느낄 수 있는 뜻깊은 순간이었습니다. 이 작은 발걸음이 우리 학교의 더 큰 도약을 위한 시작이 되기를 진심으로 바랍니다.

앞으로도 우리 학생들, 학부모님, 그리고 선생님들 모두가 함께 만들어가는 캘거리 한글학교의 밝은 미래를 기대해 주시고, 지속적인 관심과 응원을 부탁드립니다.

[Notice] Participation in the Overseas Korean Community Meeting

Dear Calgary Korean School Families,
This is Junhee Kim, Principal of the Calgary Korean School.

I am pleased to share that on June 17, 2025, I had the honor of representing Calgary Korean School at a very special event.

I was invited to attend a private meeting with the First Lady of the Republic of Korea, Mrs. Kim Hye-kyung, as part of an overseas Korean community gathering. Among numerous Korean organizations in the Alberta region, Calgary Korean School was the only institution formally invited to this occasion, which made the event all the more meaningful.

During the meeting, I introduced the distinguished 45-year history of our school, our current growth and achievements, and the high quality of Korean language and cultural education we provide. I also had the valuable opportunity to share insights on the areas where further support and development are needed for our continued progress.

Although the meeting was brief, Mrs. Kim expressed her deep appreciation for the vital role Korean schools play in overseas communities. She offered warm encouragement for our efforts in educating the next generation in Korean language and culture, and conveyed her sincere support for the continued growth of schools like ours.

This meeting was a great personal honor, but more importantly, it was a proud moment for the entire Calgary Korean School community. I truly hope that this meaningful step marks the beginning of even greater strides for our school in the future.
